Dual Display Questions
1. Is there a way i can make a single wallpaper be stretched across both monitors (not just the image twice)
2. Is there a way to stretch the taskbar across both displays?

1. what i've done is to use a photo editing program (gimp, in my case) and create a new blank image with the same dimensions as my desktop (2880x900) and paste two different 1440x900 images--one on each side--to make wallpaper with a different image on each monitor, or i'll make sure to download the largest size wallpaper and resize it to my desktop dimensions.
2. you need a 3rd party app to have a taskbar on each monitor. display fusion enables this function and even allows you a 30 day use of their pro version (the version that actually enables the taskbar on the other monitor--the free version does not).
DisplayFusion: Multi-Monitor Taskbar and Desktop Wallpaper|Binary Fortress Software
(display fusion actually takes care of your #1 issue too--you can either stretch an image across both monitors or have different images on both monitors)
I concur on using DF, I use it as well. He is also right about the options you get with the free version vs the pro version. The free one will let you span wallpapers, but not the taskbar. Hey one out of two aint bad huh, lol?
Wow, i love it so much, i bought a license. Its great. Espeically that it keeps the running programs, on that monitors taskbar.
Just 2 usage questions now... Can i make it iconized like the 7 superbar? Why cant it set to my custom visual style I have applied?
I have my monitors arranged vertically... so I don't actually think a double taskbar would look very good, but I agree that Microsoft have done little to enhance the native Win 7 experience for multiple monitor users...
I heard they have had many upon many requests for that in their next OS. Considering that the price of monitors keeps dropping, dual displays will become even more common, and they will put it in Windows 8
@cclloyd9785, now you just want too much, lol. Next you gonna ask if DF can wash your dishes and do your lawn, lol. Just messing with you.
Don't get complacent about monitor costs dropping, decent SIPS/HIPS screens still don't come cheap, and to put the boot right in don't forget that OLEDS will bump those costs back up again...
either way, can we get back to my question about the visual style.
Didn't the DisplayFusion suggestion answer your post?
There's not much to rival it, so I'm not sure what else anyone is expected to suggest...
Otherwise, as you said above, wait until developments or improvements in the next service pack or OS
