    windows media player

Hi I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and use media player. I am trying to stream sporting events, but get the message 'Player needs to be upgraded from version 6.3'.
Can I upgrade my current version?
I have been to the microsoft website, but all that seems to be available to me is media feature KB968211.
Apparently i need v6.4 or better to view.
Can anybody help direct me to an upgrade so i can view the stream?

I downloaded both these files but when attempting installation i get the message
'this download is not applicable to your computer'

Is Media Player 6.3 the only available to Windows 7?

There does not seem to be any other upgrades on the microsoft website.

A further review seems to indicate that Win7 has the most up to date media player already installed. The other editions that were provided to you in that link, were indeed not for your computer.

It appears that you should have Player 12. This is what I found. A download for Media player 11. Look it over, and decide. Before ANY downloads from the net, you must feel confident that it is virus free and that it is the correct platform for 32 bit or 64 bit.

Thanks for your help Rich, I think the option of downgrading to WMP11 is a good one.
I will look at the link later and hopefully do the installation.
I'll let you know how i get on...
