Why can't I play from shared library?

I have a Win 7 HP laptop and a Win 7 RC PC (will be a 7 HP machine once I get a MB and maybe HDD). I can see a video library from the PC on the laptop, and even play from it, but WMC won't pick up the videos to allow me to play them. There are probably over 200 GB of videos. Again, the laptop can see the shared library but WMC won't populate its menu with the video files. do I need to wait a while for it to index them? I waited about 10 minutes with nothing showing up except a message about troubleshooting connections to libraries.

I should say that I'm plugged in to my router with both machines, I spent $6 on a network cable for this purpose.

Does your router support Mulimedia Streaming? If so, is it on? Have you properly setup Homegroup sharing? If so, have you allowed the device (which in this case is the other PC)?

Can you see them in WMP? You should be able to play them with WMP, if they haven't been downloaded from someplace like Amazon.

WMM support is for wireless streaming. Regardless, with it turned on I still can't get to the shared files in WMC.

Note that I said the laptop can see the library it's just that I can't use it in WMC.

I can see them in Explorer but WMP can't read the library, it tells me I need permission to access it.

WAIT... Missed a checkbox in the Homegroup sharing screen, it works now. It was the box for streaming media to other devices.

Many routers are outdated by the current protocols required to stream MultiMedia. Wireless streaming is even newer.
