Hello everyone, I have windows 7 64 with a hauppauge 1800 tv card, and I am trying to hook it to my computer, In the room I have a digital converter box running to my tv, and I have split the signal to run to the computer, the problem I have is the signal goes to the computer, but after setup, I dont get a pictur in media center.....do I have to have another cable box in this room to get this to work?.....and ideas are greatly appreciated......Dirty

Are you splitting the coax cable that goes to the cable box? If so it probably wont work as the digital cable signal is copy protected. The only way I can think of is to run it to the cable box and then use the component, composite, or hdmi outputs from the box to your pc.

Edit- I think I misread your post and that was not what you were asking. sorry

Sounds liek you need a video capture card, not tuner.

    Hi there
there SHOULDN't be any problems - I'm using a Video Sender to send a TV signal from a SKY satellite box to a receiver and then use the COMPOSITE signal as input to the Hauppage card.

The Video sender "strips off" any macrovision DRM crud too - although I don't think SKY TV's signal has any protection when routed through a Video sender.

The problem is with WMC is that there's no COMPOSITE INPUT channel facility unless you have some sort of remote -- the Hauppage WIN TV software will have a composite input channel.

I'm using a SCART ==> composite converter at the back of the sky box as input to the TV video sender. Pic enc.

    Cheers
