Channels

When I'm setting up WMC and the program is scanning for channels, how come it only comes up with 7 of them? I have Time Warner Cable of Queens.

Are you using a Set Top Box?

No. I saw a tutorial that showed all you had to do was plug the cable line into the tuner. If that's the case how do I perform the connections with the Set Top Box?

Once you have your STB connected - rerun WMC setup again - the STB should be automatically recognized and you will be prompted to set it up.

Sorry about that. I think I have it figured out. These new boxes use HDMI as the out source. Unlike the older ones where you had a cable in as well as a cable out in the back, this one I have now only has cable in. I have to go back to Time Warner and see if I can get a box as described above to hook the cable out to the tuner.

Ok got the box I wanted and everything went well. Couple of oddities though. Why aren't some of the channels matching up. I tuned to channel 4 when Barbar was on and I get a different show. Also NY1 was on a whole different channel. I'm also experiencing "no signal" messages on a lot of the channels like ESPN. Should I scan channels again or what? Anybody else had this problem? This channel mix up is driving me crazy. I click Nick on Channel 6 on the guide to watch ICarly and I get C-Span!! What gives?

How do I get more Audio Channels?

Not Getting All Channels on WMC
Hi - Upfront, I'm a newbie to WMC TV. So that said.... I set it up this afternoon and scanned for analog and digital QAM stations. It only brought in channels 1-100, plus some "subchannels" which I don't understand: e.g., 15, 15.3 & 15.4; 11 channel 16s, some of which look the same. We...

RAM channels
What exactly is "triple channel" RAM? Is it just RAM that comes in a set of 3 or is the RAM different to dual channel? The reason I'm asking is that I was wondering if I could buy 3 sticks of "dual channel" RAM, and put them together, to make it triple channel on a new computer.

Changing channels
Excuse my ignorance but I was wondering, when you record different shows on different channels on the same or even a different day will MC change to the appropriate channel like Time Warner's DVR service does?
