Configure WMP to play 1 at a time unless is playlist

Perhaps there is a place within the WMP configuration options that will allow me to play only 1 title at a time unless I have created a playlist. Find that when I click on a title to play it does not stop when that title completes but continues on. Do not believe WMP in Win XP did this, nor did my Musicmatch Jukebox thru its usage during the Win 98, Win ME and into the Win XP era. I skipped the Vista trick like many others. So, can't I play a single title if I wish without sitting here and stopping it manually??

You can have the same effect if you play the file directly from the Music folder.

Total playlist time in WMP 12??
I hope this is the right spot, but In previous versions of WMP you could see the total time of the 'now playing' list. Some showed it by default others you could set it to show. Is there a way to do it in WMP 12?? Any tips would be much obliged.
