Seems like they're still not done patching
I get
"Our apologies -- we could not authenticate this request"
no matter what movies I try
while everything still works fine in the browser

Yesterday 2/18/2011 NETFLIX stopped working on WMC on 4 of my computers running Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). Tech support at Netflix passed the ball to Microsoft stating that they do not support WMC and it was not theyr problem; total BS since Netflix server response generates a windows script error indicating: Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment. URL: https://www.netflix.com/layout/jscript/pkg-MoviePlayer-fffff6-s-689912js?v=689912..................... STILL NOT WORKING!
I had this same problem after installing ie9 rc. after removing the ie9 and reverting back to ie8 all problems have went away. no more script errors in netflix.
Confirmed...here it doesn't work anymore either while it still works without a hitch in any Browser
I wonder if that is connected to the Silverlight update, Microsoft pushed out 2 days ago.
In that case Netflix would be right

Having the same issue. Started yesterday. I can browse movies on WMC, but when I try to play it has a error message telling me to check my Internet connection which I know is connected.
Any new news on a fix?
both wmc and i.e.8 will not connect to netflix site but firefox has no problem connecting. help please.
2/19/2011 NETFLIX still KAPUT on WMC (Windows 7 32/64 bit)
Evrything suggested on several forums was tried, from clearing cache to removal and reinstalation of Silverlight. Nothing improved still no streaming trough WMC. Nice basketball game between NETFLIX support (joke) and Microsoft support (both hired monkeys). Next would be to cancell Netflix suscription.
i just tried netflix just now with win 7 WMC it is working again
tried it last night i was getting the same error that everyone else was getting
don't know if this did the trick. i changed the update setting for windows and silverlight (no self installing) then i did a system restore before the newest updates (2/12/11 for me) then i checked for updates for windows; made sure the silverlight update was not checked and installed updates and netflix streams to WMC now. had to log in though. i hope this help anyone or check updates before doing this just in case microsoft might just slipped out a fix overnite.
I've just removed Internet Explorer9 RC and NETFLIX started streaming again on WMC.
