I tried your suggestion several times initially when I started this thread, and everything else I could think of to no avail. Crap coding by MS in my opinion.Technet thread I found more or less agrees with me.

I'm sorry that didn't work; but was worth a try as I am not getting this problem in my 7MC setup and cannot reproduce it.

It's a real pain in VMC that I'm getting this problem. However, the roboot works there. I thought it might be due to the size of recording.xml. But I still got the problem whn I had cleared that file down.

NP, I'm just frustrated.

The really bad part is when I had a DVR from TWC I *never* had issues like this. Seems really sad MS can't do it right. Since the thread start I have installed Win7 x86 and x64 on various machines here and the issue persists on all installs.

My microphone wont record sound
