    Media Center songs sorting

    Hello all...

    I'm experiencing the following problem:

I've never used Media Center so far for playing anything, I usually used Winamp for music, but now in 7 I use Media Player...

I want to use Media Center cause I like the appearance and all, but I have this problem:

The lists of files are a mess. My music is not organized into playlists or albums, cause I don't have albums burned from audio CDs but mostly several mp3s scattered and sorted in folders of their genre by me.

    e.g. Ballads, Rock, Pop etc.

Now I want to have playlists with my folders, e.g. to have a playlist that will play all the contents of the folder Pop...another with all the contents of the folder Latin etc.

I also want to browse the folders from in there without having created a playlist with their contents first

I see that the only way of organizing and showing your music on Media Center is by Album, Artist, Song, etc... which shows me either one song at a time or all songs in my hard disk to browse from, having a total mess of unsorted, scattered songs.

Any thoughts from anyone who uses Media Center regularly?

    Thank you

Amen limneos.... I have some of the same exact opinions and thoughts... maybe cuz i am and have been a regular winamp guy like you up until now. I absolutely dispise the way and the work that has gone into the MCE and WMP..... I just got a MC extender and this is a great idea, but its useability is limited just becuase of how it sorts, everything, not just music either. This feature here needs major improvement before a final release.... besides the eyecandy and maybe a few other minor things for win7, i wouldnt go out and buy it and upgrade my system over XP. After dealing with the Extender, i was screen-drunk last night.

edit: also check my posts in this subforum on the parental controls.... that thread was geared around this same principle with MCE and WMP.... tho no responses on that one
