Is there anyway to record a show on one channel and then watch something else on a different channel?

Yes, if your TV-tuner card / adapter has two tuners of if your computer has two tuner cards / adapters.

All I want to do is use audicity or whatever to get my guitar into a file on my pc. I am using line in as a source as the guitar is hooked directly to that input. It simply won't record. I have the line in as default and inside audicity I also have it selected. Can it even be done?
