In 'Speaker Properties' in the 'Advanced' tab, change the 'Default' format to match (48 MHz ??) using the pull down menu - have all sound apps closed when doing so.

BTW, the files may be protected by their copyright owners and if so this may be ocurring to thwart copying of Premium TV Shows or DVD Movies.

    hi
    ok here goes
i am recording live tv in win 7 media center which are recorded into aWTV files if you then right hand click the file win 7 gives you the option to change into a DVR-MS file i then import these into TempEnc 4 dvd author to remove adverts and burn to a dvd what happend was the first file had sound and the second did not on investigation i noticed that the audio had changed see below

    First File Sound Great
    Video Mpeg 2 Video,704x576 25fps Picture ratio : 16:9,PAL
Audio Mpeg 1 Audio Layer II, 48000 Hz, Stereo, 128 kb/s

    Second File No Sound
    Video Mpeg 2 Video,704x576 25fps Picture ratio : 16:9,PAL
Audio Mpeg 1 Audio Layer II, 48000 Hz, Monaural, 64 kb/s

i am trying to find out how and why this happened it has happened before i put it down to a bad recording at first but the two files listed were from the same station episode one and episode two

hope that is what you are wanting to know dvd author can't handle wtv at this present time

Sounds like an incompatibility issue with one of your programs. The people at hack7mc.com have a guide that should give you a step by step for converting. I hope this helps you out. Here's a link for you.

I'm also a UK Freeview WMC user. You might want to try VideoRedo for removing adverts. Works great with SD but struggles with most HD content.
