    ATI Remote Wonder & MC7?

Has any one found a way to make the remote wonder work with Win7 Media Center?
I've tried several different things but still cant get full functionality back.
Does any one have any tips or is this not going to happen just yet?

No. I have the Remote Wonder as well. From what I've read long ago, it is not compatible with MC. Things could have changed by now, but I don't think so. There may be a plugin and since I'm interested, I'll look around.

Also, I have a TV Wonder which is not compatible.

The remote works great for PowerDVD with the plugin though.

    Cool, thanks.

After I posted, I was using the mc for a while with the remote. Almost all functions were working correctly, such as back a page, forward, choosing files, play, pause etc...

If it's any concern, I'm using driver 6.0.0.210 dated 11/30/2006 from ATI.

To get it on your system, install the 3-04_rw_enu driver package for XP from ATI's site, then let Windows Update apply the newer driver for it after. This works for XP, Vista, 7 and maybe others.

Do not ever install the Jungo update from Windows Update. That will make the remote useless and after trying on and off for a long time, I've found no way to fix it.

Here are the functions that are available to me for mc, taken from my Win7 x86 7068:

    Yea Your right. Kind of,
Mine is the Remote Wonder II
I have all ready tryed everything you said
I have been successful in getting it working but it does not have full media center functionally.
The main button that I am missing is the Back button.
Every thing else seems to work but with out a back up button it just sucks!
I really appreciate your trying to help but it looks like I'm just stuck using MEC-Joy plugin & my X-Box controller as my remote for now.

Oh damn, that's rather interesting. Now I have to see if I can somehow get my Logitech RumblePad 2 game controller to work with mc heh heh.

Button 16 in the chart doesn't go back for you though? It does for me. Possibly the RWI & II differ here.

Yea my remote doesn't look any thing like that one.
The layout is close but different.
The back button was the right click mouse button, but now all it is ,
is the right click. I cant seem to find a way to restore the normal configuration.

I know this thread is a week old and sorry to necro it if you consider it too old, but I have an ATI Remote Wonder (the first version, same as the one in that photo) and have not been able to get it to work. I have the 3.04 XP driver (which worked in vista with compatibility mode) but when I install in 7 followed by installing the 29KB ATI driver from windows update and run atirw.exe the system doesn't respond to the remote.

When I first tried installing it would fail on the reboot to register things properly so I installed in somewhere other then program files and it seemed to get past that. Then I was missing mfc71.dll so I acquired that as well. I'll try it on a clean install or something but I'm at a loss as to how you got it to work and I didn't

Install the XP 3.04 driver in normal mode. For me, it always complains that it can't register a .dll or two. Ignore this. Finish installing. Reboot. Then install the driver again for a second time. Reboot. Should work fine now.

Then you could do a Windows Update if you want.
