have you tried doing a refresh of the folder in question?

Go to the the series and press "Ctrl +R" (or I believe the record button works on remote) see if that works

Or are you meaning when you view the folder in explorer?

Yes. Unhide windows folders then go to C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser\Startup, and place the image inside and name it backdrop.jpg. Then startup MB, if the image isnt there go to the config options and turn on the fanart on startup,(or something like that?) and then restart MB. Then it should be there.

So I didn't want to start a new thread so I figured that I would post this here before starting a new thread. I am working on setting up my first HTPC using windows 7 / MCE. I have been looking into Media Browser but I haven't seen anything right off about using it in a backend / front end situation. I am putting my storage unit in my rack and then I plan to have at least 2 client system at TV's that I want to stream to.

The only thing I have found is using Media Browser with A Linksys DMA Extender. But I am re purposing some old hardware and want to use what I have without buying anything new.

Any advice would be great. Trying to nail down what software I think will be work for me before I proceed.

Firstly MB is a client only program. It can be picked up and used by any extender out there or be installed directly to your HTPC.

It is very good on network setups and very very fast. Not sure exactly what kind of info your looking for, so if you could be a little more specific, I'll try a little harder and give you some direct answers.

    Thanks for your reply DeamonSeed

Sorry to not being specific enough. I am trying to figure out how to word this correctly.

I want to maintain one main database on my Storage unit. I want to stream to my clients from that database. So since your saying that MB is a client only program. I would essentially be running 3 individual copies of MB.

Would there be any conflict's with having 3 separate installs of MB accessing the same database?

Well I think I may have semi answered my own questions. Let me know what you think about my reasoning:

I can configure MB on my storage unit to "monitor" my database and make any changes. I will setup MB on my clients so that they can access the data base but turn off "monitoring" the database.

I just don't want to load a movie and they have all three copies of MB trying to get the same data and end up with conflicts if this makes sense.

I apologize if I am not coming across clear. I know how I want this to work in my head but that and reality are two separate things all together.
