Win 7 MCE Won't Wake to Record

    I have a laptop with Vista x64 and Win 7 x64.

Media Center seems to work fine in Vista. It will wake the computer from sleeping when a show is set to record and record it and then go back to sleep.

In Windows 7, I can set a show to record, close the lid, putting the computer to sleep, but it never wakes from its sleep to record. It is quite annoying and I don't know how to fix it!

I have a USB tv tuner, a Hauppauge HVR-950Q. In device manager in Win 7 if I bring up the properties for each USB Root Hub and go to the Power Management tab, I have tried to uncheck "All the computer to turn off this device to save power", but as soon as I turn off/restart the computer, this option is checked again when Windows reloads, plus it doesn't fix the problem even if I don't restart.

Does anybody know how I can get my computer to wake from its sleep to record?

You might want to test out the app MCE Standby Tool

Slick Solutions - Home of the MCE Standby Tool (MST)

Note: You'll need to download the beta version of that app to use it in Windows 7

Otherwise, you could use task manager to schedule wake up times if you know them in advance.
