    Choose to use the suggested settings checkbox at the bottom of the settings application
    Your system is x64; you will also need to install the x64 Components addon.
    It has its own settings application with its own suggested settings checkbox.

    ok

    did your suggested settings in 64 bit app but still shows only the avi folder in media center with no files init. it states no files in library even though it shows the avi folder in the video library with no sub files in the folder

    On the Misc TAB is a button to cause the Library to rebuild, give that a go.

    If you are dual booting that system with another OS, it is most likely a permissions problem.
    Rightclick the folder in Explorer and choose properties | security

    If you are installing codecs on your own you need to choose either your own codecs, or the Shark007 codecs. You are causing conflicts to install ffdshow, Haali or anything else along with the Shark007 codecs.

    The Shark007 codecs cover all formats even RealMedia;
    you do not need to install anything else.

    I suggest you uninstall EVERYTHING codec related starting with the Shark007 codecs.
    reboot your system
    install only the Win7codecs and the x64 Components
    Afterwards, In both settings applications, slecet the checkbox at the bottom for suggested settings

    Remember - Shark007 uninstalls MUST be performed from the Help TAB of the Settings Applications.
