WMC will not match ota channels to the TV guide

I installed a AVerTHVD Duet tv tuner card on my Windows 7 Enterprise edition system. It worked fine for a couple of days. Was changing the channel lineup around, which it seemed to have some difficulty with. When I shut the system down, I got a blue screen with a note there was a hardware problem with the tuner.

I removed the card, and uninstalled the drivers. I installed the tuner card on another Windows 7 Enterprise computer, and it worked fine with WMC.

I then reinstalled it on the original machine, and it found the card, found the tv signals, but WMC would give me a serious problem error when it started to put the channels with the guide. It would not finish the setup process.

I have checked the card in the Device Manager, and it is showing as working properly.

Short of a complete reinstall of Windows, are there any settings in the registry or elsewhere, that can put WMC back to its initial state? I have some software installed that I have to deactivate and reactivate, and have about used up the allowable reactivation's, so don't want to go this route. Oh, yes, tried to do the repair-reinstall Windows process and it failed. Fortunately, had an image of the disk, but won't go through that again.

Any ideas?

Are you running the 64 bit system, if so check your bios to see if it is not set back to 32 Bit.

Another thing with the guide, check the system clock and date, this can be a pain in the bum if it is out.

Try this, open up control panel > Programs and Features. Select turn Windows features on or off ont he left side. In the pop up, expand Media Features, and uncheck Windows Media Center and click OK, click ok to the warning prompt. Let it remove WMC, reboot. THen follow the same procedure and check the box this time to re-enable it. That should make you totally reconfigure WMC from scratch.

Thanks for the suggestions hairy one and Desslok. I checked the BIOS and it is set correctly, as is the system clock. Also removed WMC rebooted and re-enabled it. Didn't help. Beginning to think the problem is with the motherboard. Am building a new computer, and will use the one that doesn't work correctly, for non-media applications. Therefore, while the issue still exists, won't pursue further attempts to fix it.
