I think I'm going to go buy a Hauppauge. I bet it wouldnt take long at all for ATI to release a Windows 7 Driver. Too bad they dont think its important.

Come to think of it, fewer things work properly in this version than they did in 7000. I don't think it's entirely ATI's fault.

I have a tv wonder 650 pro pci , and to get it running i ( yes i did ) , just stuck the winxp cd in and told windows 7 to run it in xp mode and it installed the whole thing just like in winxp.

It seems to scan the channels just fine, The only thing i see is sometimes the video is jerky. But that mey be because my video card and memory of only 768.

    Hope that helps.

Well by that argument it should work with the newer software running in XP mode, am I right?

I'll play around with that, and if necessary uninstall and go back in time using my CD's.....if I can find the darn things!! LOL.

By the way forgot to ask, clarify if you used plain XP or XP SP1, 2 or 3 compatability mode please.

OK, I've got it to work, for now at least.

It could have been my fault from the start. Not sure I was convinced that I had an ATI Theater 650 Pro card installed. When I double-checked I realised this morning that it was in fact the TV Wonder 650 card. Not sure if that made a difference as the drive install package seems the same, but I guess the software is different. I also installed the TV Remote Wonder software, although it has limited scope in Vista and above. I installed everything in compatability mode with Vista SP1, and so far, the Windows Media Center works.

False alarm, after a reboot it's back to black screen - unable to find the tuner.

I checked Event Viewer and this is what's in there. Looking online I can't find any solution.

Hmm. I have the Remote Wonder as well and it has full functionality here in 7 as well the Media Center. Are you referring to something in particular that you are not able to use it for in Vista and above?

Maybe have a look at this thread -

    ATI Remote Wonder & MC7?

I was merely quoting ATI on that. Hardly ever use it and haven't noticed any issues, until these media center issues in 7.

An update from Microsoft for Windows 7 seemed to have kicked life into my Media Center, but only for a moment. It tuned to the first channel I chose, but then relapsed into "Tuner unavailable" type nonsense when I tried other channels.

I have tried setting up the TV several times. Incidentally, when this happens the radio part conks out too.

I read somewhere that W7 RC silently reports problems to Microsoft, well, I hope they got this one.
