I have deleted Media Center & want it back

Dont ask me why but I deleted Media Center a while back but now of course I want it & cant find a way. (I dont have ehome\ahshell.exe file anymore) Can I somehow reinstall with my Win 7 disc? It seems to want to reinstall the whole OS & I dont want to lose anything.

Hello Hutchyl, and welcome to Seven Forums.

How exactly did you delete Media Center? This may help determine if there may be an easier way to get it back than below.

For now, you should be able to do a repair install to get it back if you have a retail Windows 7 installation disc.

    Hope this helps for now,
    Shawn

    Hello,
I am having a similar problem. I did not delete WMC. I had it pinned to my taskbar and when I unpinned it from my taskbar I can no longer find it in my search or start menu. It is still on my computer because it is still an option when I right click on a video. I can go about finding the actual icon? Search turns up nothing.

How about typing media center in start menu search, right click, pin to taskbar.

If all else fails you can always download the Media Pack for Windows 7 here

    Download details: Media Feature Pack

When I did that it would only return searches for Windows Media Player. I found it when I right clicked a .avi file and was able to open it through windows media center and then found it through its properties menu.

Here goes your solution. Using the tutorial below, first finish turning it off, then on the Windows Media Center option when you expand Media Features. :)
