Probably have it set to update information, like sports scores, etc from General-Automatic Download Options. It will show a icon in the notification area at certain times it's updating. Maybe once, or twice a day. They're not like Windows updates to WMC, so it won't show up there.

I don't even use Media Center.Only Media Player. Are they connected intrinsically?I think I do have automatic something downloads set on Media Player.I'll have to look into this.I'm also battling a Trojan on this machine.

I'll have to post back later.

    Thank you.

    Keep you updated.

I'd deal with the malware before worrying about this then. Who knows what it's doing on your system.

Do you have it set to automatic download only or download and install? Maybe it's just downloading and failing, so it attempts to re-download?

Think I'm done with the trojan.

I do have auto update and install active in Control Panel/Windows Update.Haven't checked with Media Center, yet.I'll also look for logs and see if updates failed.

I'll post results later. Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Thread Update

Checked Update status:I've got everything set to automatic.
I just never saw that WMC Updater Globe so mutch.I watch pretty much everything. It has paid off a couple times.:)

Could have been the malware.I don't see any updates for WMC installed recently.
Still runs choppy with re-runs online.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Anyway,I apreciate all rasponses.Hope I'll be able to return the favor sometime.

Yeah, they wouldn't be like Windows Updates, where you would see updates there. Probably information just gets updated in- C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\Packages

Don't think it's from the malware, just updating itself like it does when you have the update options checked.
