    WMP 12 Online Stores

I installed W7 RC, and have been using it for a couple of days...still trying to figure things out. On my Vista system, in WMP 11, I log into XM Radio Online and stream music through WMP...however, in WMP 12, I can't seem to find the Online Stores that lets me choose XMRO. I see the link to Media Guide, and a link to Browse the Online Stores, but when I click on that I get "Choice of Online Stores" with a description of that feature, but nothing is listed to choose from. Is there something else I need to do to see the choices?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

No solution. I have since (original post) bought a new desktop computer that came with Win7 installed, and also recently upgraded my laptop (Win7 RC) to Win7 Home Premium. Anyway, I found a better way to stream XMRO. There is a Vista/Win7 desktop gadget called 'XM Online Radio' that you can download HERE. Then place the extracted files into your gadgets directory and restart your gadget browser (right-click desktop & select gadgets). You will need to have either 1) Remaining free XMRO from a lifetime subscription or sub before they started charging for XMRO....or 2) A current $2.99/month Online Premium sub...because the gadget will require logging into your online account.

    Hope that helps.

I do have the XM gadget by build a gadget. It was working perfectly until this last weekend after I applied the latest MS updates. I am not 100% sure it was because of the updates, but it does seem odd.
It appears to connect to XMRO but no sound. I can see the song names change on the display.

I tried to resolve the issue several ways: check not muted, check to ensure speakers were working, device manager, even uninstall/reinstall gadget. Part of my troubleshooting was to see if XMRO would work in wmp (reason for 1st post).

I have resolved to listen to XMRO with a browser (IE, FF, Chrome). This is troubling as I do have a pd subscription.

I have emailed XM, but I have not heard back as of yet. I attempted to contact MS but did not have my license Key handy. I will try again once I find the key.

    Thanks for your help.

Build A Gadget has a support FAQ page, and you might try checking their troubleshooting steps for "No Sound" HERE. They have good support...at one point, XM did an update to their online service which broke everyone's feed, but Build A Gadget was on top of it, and issued an update to their gadget in about a day, got everything working again. I'm listening to Cinemagic (my favorite) right now through the gadget. I hope the link helps you to get your gadget working again.
