Unable to play MKV/FLV in Windows Media Center Windows 7 [64 Bit]

I use windows media center. I've just switched over to 64 bit windows and now MC is unable to play some formats: MKV, FLV and some more while it was playing everything in 32 bit. I'm confused. I've tried installing klite & Combined-Community-Codec-Pack but nothing is helping. What am i missing?

    Thanks in advance.

i would uninstall those codec packs and and go with sharks007 codecs be sure to use the x64 as well

    Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs

    Shark007.net - Windows 7 x64 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs

Yes. You need the 64bit addons as MC is 64bit.

As mentioned, Sharks + 64bit addon will work and is a good one.
Depending on what you need, DivX Codec Pack works for MKVs in 64bit as well and does well.

Many prefer Sharks over all else, as it handles everything. DivX will not handle as much but will do MKV in 32/64bit. This would be a minimal codedc package in comparison.

Whichever you choose, only use one or other or you'll end up with problems.Same goes for any codec package.

If you want to try a new one, uninstall all of the old first. Sharks probably is the best bet if you want to cover absolutly everything.

i just installed it to have a look , didnt find it easy to set up to monitor my movies folder so i uninstalled it,
after that i noticed i had language bar popping up when uac popped up, got rid of it now but a little annoying it would interfere with my settings like that.
makes me wonder if anything else changed i havent noticed.
as i do a daily restore point on startup i think i will roll back to this morning
