    Office Installation

Sorry for the dumb question but if I was to reload win 7 and with my brand new Office 2010 can I reinstall using the same key or do I have to contact Microsoft for a new one?

Actually same goes for Win 7 do I need to get a new key if I want to reinstall win 7?

Yes in theory you can. You will have to reactivate and this could be just over the net or require a phone in activation.

I have reinstalled Office (2007) at least a dozen times with the same key. Activation always went smoothly. No calls to make - just activate it when you use one of the programs for the first time.

Ok good to know. I'm happy to report that I got my Win 7 problems fixed and now I'm just happy to proceed. I've got a small issue with drives and mapping so i'll have to post my question on that part of the forum.

Office 2010 told me that mine wasn't valid or something of that sort. This was for a version that was already installed and which I'd downloaded from TechNet.

Think I'd done another restore from a system image and the system image had been made on one disk and restored to another. Both Win 7 and Office wanted me to download an activation-related program and validate. The Win 7 went fine, but Office 2010 didn't like me. Product seems to still work fine. I've been meaning to ask in the office forum what's up but haven't gotten around to it.
