MS Office 2010 installed but not listed in my default programs

As you can see, the title states the issue.
When I open my list of default programs, my MS Office 2010 is not listed.

Does anyone know why and how I can ADD MS Office to my list of programs??

    Thanks !!!

had the same problem, but with the beta version.

anyway, there are some who claim that they have to do it manually, depending on which version of office you installed, 64 or 32, will depend to which folder your exe's are in.
    here is the 32 version:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14
the 64 is the same, but without (x86).
here is a quick summary how to do it manually:
Right click on a document in Windows Explorer and then select Open with and then click on the Choose default program and browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 and then located and click on the WINWORD.EXE item and set that as the default application to be used.

    Tapuz,

Thanks but when I looked at the exact location, Winword.exe was not there. Theres a list of files (mostly DLL) but no luck. Obviously, I have a working version of MS Office 2010 Home and Business in my programs, but not sure whats happening.....

    Tapuz,

Ok. Spoke too soon. I found the C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 14 but no .exe files in there, or in any subfolders either. I even searched for "WINWORD.exe" but no results..........argh

i would do a search on "c" to see if you can find it, it has to be somewhere.
it might not show up if you hide known program extensions in folder properties. and also to unhide hidden files.
    (control panel, folder options).

i allways have my control panel set up with the small icon view, that way i can find things easier.
just as side point, in windows 7, click on the start icon, on the pop up window, right above the icon, there is a box you can type in, type "folder" and watch the results pop up, the first one is the one your looking for.

maybe you can do a repair installation.
or after uninstalling, and cleaning up the registry, try reinstalling.
