Could you fill in the specs of your computer? You can use HWInfo32 from HWiNFO & HWiNFO32 - Hardware Information and Analysis Tools and also get some basic information by going to the Control Panel and clicking on System.

As far as the freezing and shutting itself down, I'm assuming it's crashing. If so, does it give you a particular error before doing so or does an event occur before it crashes or does it just outright crash? Any more details you can provide would be quite useful.

    Hi there
ONE problem with Outlook 2010 is that whatever you set it to IT ALWAYS tries to connect to the Internet before starting. If there's no available connection then it takes a while via retries etc before opening.

You can set the Outlook preferences to NOT SEND when it starts but there isn't a way -- at least I haven't found it yet - to prevent it doing a RECEIVE at startup.

    Cheers
