    Hello Sebbie,

Is there an option at the top of the email called download pictures from internet?

If so, this is to stop stop large emails being downloaded and using bandwith and PC hard drive space and to stop files infected being downloaded.

Personally i would leave it so you have to download the pictures manually by clicking on that option.

If you really did want to download automatically and you fully trust your email setup to detect funny emails then check this tutorial out - Outlook 2010: Download Images Automatically | Microsoft Outlook | Tech-Recipes

Otherwise, as i said, leave that option alone and download manually for safety reasons.

Open Outlook. Tools open drop curtain until Options appears. It rolls down on mine at the very end edge. A pain. Then click Options.

Click Mail Format Tab. Message Format section at top of tab there is a selection curtain
    Check the pic below.

Check the box I circled in yelllow only.
    In the curtain select HTML.
    Click Okay at the bottom.

I had to do this to mine. Rich text only showed text.

Hope that takes care of it.

you try turning off cache mode? It's possible outlook is not caching the images.

The following link relates to Outlook 2007, but it may well provide the basis for a solution in Outlook 2010...

Block or unblock automatic picture downloads in e-mail messages - Outlook - Microsoft Office

    Did you try this?...

Unblock picture downloads for all messages

    1. On the Tools menu, click Trust Center, and then click Automatic Download.
    2. Clear the Don't download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail messages or RSS items check box.
