Office 2010 Disc On Preloaded PC

I will be setting up my new computer with Windows 7 in the next few days. It comes with Microsoft Office Starter preloaded. I purchased the DISC version of Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Office. I take it if Office starter is already preloaded then I do not even have to use the DVD, instead I can just punch in the product key# that comes with the DVD?

Dunno. Give it a shot. If it doesn't work, you can just uninstall the Starter Edition and install your purchased version of Office.

I believe every computer that ships with Microsoft Office Starter 2010 has an option to type in a product key, you get the option of using the free Starter edition (limited versions of Word & Excel) or upgrading.

I think this is the screen you are greeted with when Office is first launched, you would just click the top option if you have a key & your edition will be installed or enabled

Well I got the same screen Gilly posted and I just entered my product key without using the DVD and Office 2010 installed just fine. Seemed like most of the files WERE already on my computer since I did not see that much internet activity while installing.
