Installing Office in safe mode will not work because the windows installer service doesnt operate in safe mode. However, it can be enabled manually through a small registry tweak or a small tool called Safemsi which automates that. So if you want to try install in safe mode you can do that.

But from what the error window shows, there seem to be legacy products detected. What you can try is to use the MS windows installer clean up utility and remove all office products before installing office 2010.

Also, you can try clicking on the Setup.exe file on the office CD (browse the cd instead of using autoplay) and selecting Run as admin.

Perhaps you'll care to elaborate? Did none of the methods work? Do you get the same errors or different ones?
