if I uninstall office will it free up a key?

Well, does anyone know if I uninstall office will it free up a key? If so, I will probably do a clean install. Anyone think this is a bad idea?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

One license, one installation = compliant. 3 machine license, 3 installs = compliant.

I have read some nonsense about a limit to the number of times a single license can be installed on a single machine. It is nonsense.
