Difficulty installing Office 2010 64-bit
Hi,
I have a 64-bit Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 64-bit installed on it. I want to reinstall Office 2010 (Home & Business) in 64-bit mode instead of 32-but mode that it automatically installed in.
I bought a Product Key code for Office 2010 with the new Laptop, which I bought about a month ago, new.
I have uninstalled Office 2010 and everything else mentioned at 64-bit editions of Office 2010
I also ran the relevant Fixit from How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?
I am still unable to install Office 2010 64-bit from the download file I was directed to when I registered my product key card. It defaults to installing in 32-bit mode.
I’ve also installed a demo in the hope that that might solve the problem – it didn’t.
I’m uncertain whether the download setup file doesn’t provide the 64-bit option or offer it and report that there are files preventing the 64-bit install.
I'm desperate, because I have to be able to edit these big Excel files...
Can you point me to a download that will work - or advise me on what else I need to uninstall in order for the install to give me the option to install the 64-bit version?
Thanks very much.
Gary
