Instant Search will not open any Outlook items
I have Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit and Microsoft Office Professional 2007.
When I go to Start then search and it displays Outlook items in the results, when I try to open any Outlook items (emails, appointments, attachments), nothing happens -- the item I request to open will not open.
I also tried right clicking on the Outlook item and then selecting the "Open" option and still nothing.
I also tried right clicking on the item and then selecting "Show Conversation" which does open the window with all items in that bconversation ut I can't open from there either.
Other non-Outlook items found in the instant search (such as Word and Excel documents stored on my hard drive) open just fine.
I cannot drag an Outlook item from the instant search results to my desktop and save it there -- I receive the following error: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file...Error 0x80040119: No error description available". I can drag the same items directly from Outlook to my desktop and save them without any problem.
Outlook is my default email program and file associations are properly set to open Outlook files (e.g., messages, appointment files, etc.) using Outlook.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. I'd like to avoid uninstalling Office 2007, scrubbing/cleaning the registry and reinstalling it if at all possible. I'd also like to avoid reinstalling the operating system. But I understand those might be the only options I'm left with.
