    Section breaks in word

I have a document that requires an i, ii page numbering for the first two pages, and then the page after that, to start from 1. How do I do this?

You did not specify which version of Office you are using, i.e. 2010 or earlier.

To insert a section break, which will allow you to change the page numbering, in Word 2010:
Insert or delete a section break - Word - Microsoft Office

2010, and that article didn't help, sorry. I want the first page to be nothing, the 2nd i, the 3rd ii, and from then on, a flow from 1-9.
    Thanks.

You could add a Front Page, or 'Make the first page different':
Add or delete a page - Word - Microsoft Office

Start numbering on the second page

    1. Double-click the page number.

This opens the Design tab under Header & Footer Tools.

    1. On the Design tab, in the Options group, select the Different First Page check box.

    1. To start numbering with 1, click Page Number in the Header & Footer group, then click Format Page Numbers, and then click Start at and enter 1.
    2. To return to the body of your document, click Close Header and Footer on the Design tab (under Header & Footer Tools).

You can do that by inserting a section break after the i and ii.

If you right-click the number 4, do you get a menu option to either continue or start New numbering?
