Word 2003 crashes computer in Windows 7 x64

    Hi,

I've been having issues with Word 2003, of all things. Windows 7 is running smoothly, but whenever I use Word 2003, it crashes after a while of use and reboots the computer. I can't work out what causes it to happen, sometimes I'm just typing, sometimes when I'm zooming out of the page.

I can't get a BSOD to display even when I change off 'Automatically Restart', and changing it to run in compatibility mode hasn't helped.

By specifications are in my profile.

    Hope someone can help...

Actually come to think of it, I haven't.

    Is it likely to help?

I'm not sure, but it's worth to try.

Uninstall Entire Office 2003 and try to reinstall it in XP compatibility mode...

win 7 64 bit w 2 gigs of ram is not alot of ram. It might just be word is eating the rest of the ram. Open task manager and watch the resources while playing in word. You could also check in event viewer (type event viewer in search) to see if there are any errors relating to word

    Hope this helps

I don't think it has gone above ~40mb before it's rebooted, the RAM is never used to full capacity.

No messages in the event manager except that the computer restarted 'unexpectedly'.

    Thanks for the ideas though.
