Macros won't save Word 2003

Using Win 7 Home premium and Word 2003. Record new macros, but they're not available if I close and re-open Word. Have renamed normal.dot to oldnormal.dot but don't see a new normal template. Have Acrobat 9.0 but found past problems only with Acrobat 7. Everything worked fine using Word 2003 with Vista so wonder if Win 7 is the problem. Please advise

This helps not at all. I know that Word 2003 is compatible with Win 7, the problem remains as I described.

I have Word 2003 and 2013 installed on my computer. Word 2013 can't edit files with custom XML elements, so I want to use 2003 to open them. However, whenever I double-click an XML file, it launches 2013. I tried to fix this by selecting "open with" and browsing for Word 2003. But whenever I do...

writing macros for word 2007
Hi, I can record simple search and replace macros in word 2007 but my abilities stop there. Back in the days when I was using Word Perfect I could easily write macros that search for a string, exit the search function, select all text until a different string occurred, and then marked that...

Word 2010 is opening my word 2003 attachments
I normally use Word 2003 for documents, although I use Outlook 2010. This morning I opened a Word 2010 document and after quite a while of some sort of an installation, I was able to open the Word 2010 document. I did not think too much of it, except that later I was sending an e-mail and attached...

Excel 2003 Macros do not run correctly on a Windows 7 system.
Hi all, I've got a series of Excel 2003 spreadsheets with macros. They run just fine on a Windows XP machine. However, we recently moved them to a Windows 7 Pro machine. We still run them in Excel 2003, only now on a Windows 7 system. Problem is, they don't run right. No errors, but the one...
