Removing Word 2010 templates and stuff

When I click File\New in Word 2010 the templates page appears full of dozens of folders for office.com junk; with my own one and only templates folder hiding there, surrounded by these big menacing folders and shivering in fear.
Is there any way that I can remove all this rubbish and just see what I want to see?

    This is what I mean...

I'd imagine that you can choose a modify option, if you put the original install disc back in. Most of the time it will give you the options to install, modify or remove if you run an installer for a program that you already have installed. And if you choose modify you should be able to remove features and strip it down as so desired. Sort of like doing a custom install in the first place.

There should be a drop-down box which allows you to set the source for the templates - Local or Local + Office com.

If you select local you can manually remove any local templates that you do not require.

Not sure of exact location off the top of my head but I think it's the hidden area programdata\microsoft\templates
