Windows 7: Double vision in WP X5

Double vision in WP X5

With WP Universe closed I don't know where to put this.
In WP X5 I get what I call double vision in the area around the menu and tool bars when ever I edit a document and save it. The entries on the menu or tool bar become inoperable. The only thing I can do is close the program via the RED X. See attached.

Hi blockie

Have you installed the latest service pack(s) for WP X5? If not, download link is listed here:
Patches and Updates - Patches and Updates

Another thought - does the same thing happen if you are not running in XP mode?

Attached is jpg of menu and toolbars in WP X5 after installing service pack. Still there. I noticed today that the same thing occurs in a photo program I occasionally use, "InfanView". So now I am beginning to suspect the OS, W7.
I do not use or have installed XP Mode. Must update my profile.

Do you have a Windows theme installed?
If so, change it back to the default Windows one temporarily and see if that makes any difference.

I changed the Theme to Windows7 / Aero. Is that the default?

That is the default, blockie.

The only other thing which comes to mind, is add-ons. Have you perhaps added something around the time it began to happen?

It's been so long I can't remember. But I don't think so.

More odservations:
Both in WORD PERFECT X5 and Infanview it happens when I click on the final PRINT button.
New printer, but it was happening a long time before that.
Will try it out printing from other programs and let you know.

More observation resulted in thr following:

QuattrPro,Calendar Creator and Nuance PDf viewer are affected the same way.
Did not check any others.
Again suspect something in the OS.

This rings some bells - I seem to remember another member having a similar problem. I think it was something to do with checking or un-checking background printing. I'll have a look around and see if I can find it.

Edit: Just found the post - unfortunately it was condensed print.

I am sure someone else has had this problem, but I just can't recall how it was resolved.
Maybe someone else can. I will ask other members.

Great computing/technology based double double meaning jokes?
One of my (real life :p) friends said in IRC to all of us that we should each buy a 3DS. I responded "I'd rather buy a Vita", "BAZINGA - double meaning ;P" (as as you probably all know, vita is latin for life, as well as the name of the PlayStation Vita, so it was the usual "I'd rather get a...

3D Vision PC to TV
If I have a Gigabyte GTX460 3D Vision ready graphics card, connected to my Samsung PC63C7000 3D TV via a HDMI v1.4 cable, with my PC running the 3D services, do I still need to buy the 3D vision kit for the graphics card, given I have to use the TV's glasses for viewing on the TV?

Double Monitors = Double Desktop Headache!
I just got a new monitor, and I've always wondered what it would be like to have 2 monitors at once, seeing as my 16" has nothing wrong with it (aside from a scuff mark in the LCD when I dropped it on a screwdriver) Anyway, I got it setup, and it's amazing! I'd say it's increased my productivity...

Microsoft outlines pay-per-use PC vision
Microsoft has applied for a patent on metered, pay-as-you-go computing. U.S. patent application number 20080319910, published on Christmas Day, details Microsoft's vision of a situation where a "standard model" of PC is given away or heavily subsidized by someone in the supply chain. The end...

Help Test My Vision
At work I will see something and comment about it being new and I will be informed that it has been that way for three weeks. Having said that what I am about to say carries little weight == I just made an adjustment on the Display in CP. I then went to Seven Forun and noticed something different...

3D Vision - Monitors than I can use
Hey peeps, I am currently in the process of buying a new monitor since upgrading to a GTX 275 1792mb from Gigabyte (Very nice card, takes what you throw at it and the temps are very reasonable). I am also contemplating going over to Geforce's Stereoscopic 3D vision. Now I have been...
