Double vision in WP X5

With WP Universe closed I don't know where to put this.
In WP X5 I get what I call double vision in the area around the menu and tool bars when ever I edit a document and save it. The entries on the menu or tool bar become inoperable. The only thing I can do is close the program via the RED X. See attached.

Hi blockie

Have you installed the latest service pack(s) for WP X5? If not, download link is listed here:

Another thought - does the same thing happen if you are not running in XP mode?

Attached is jpg of menu and toolbars in WP X5 after installing service pack. Still there. I noticed today that the same thing occurs in a photo program I occasionally use, "InfanView". So now I am beginning to suspect the OS, W7.
I do not use or have installed XP Mode. Must update my profile.

Do you have a Windows theme installed?
If so, change it back to the default Windows one temporarily and see if that makes any difference.

I changed the Theme to Windows7 / Aero. Is that the default?

That is the default, blockie.

The only other thing which comes to mind, is add-ons. Have you perhaps added something around the time it began to happen?

It's been so long I can't remember. But I don't think so.

More odservations:
Both in WORD PERFECT X5 and Infanview it happens when I click on the final PRINT button.
New printer, but it was happening a long time before that.
Will try it out printing from other programs and let you know.

More observation resulted in thr following:

QuattrPro,Calendar Creator and Nuance PDf viewer are affected the same way.
Did not check any others.
Again suspect something in the OS.

This rings some bells - I seem to remember another member having a similar problem. I think it was something to do with checking or un-checking background printing. I'll have a look around and see if I can find it.

Edit: Just found the post - unfortunately it was condensed print.

I am sure someone else has had this problem, but I just can't recall how it was resolved.
Maybe someone else can. I will ask other members. :)
