    Access labels ?

Where do I find the label type or size that Access is currently using?

I was given an Access database for a club’s membership in order to print out membership cards. But the cards print just a little larger than I want.

How do I change the label/card type?

Everything I read uses the Label Wizard which takes me through all the steps to set up a label. However I don’t want to have to go through selecting fonts, colors, etc as all this data is already correct. I just want to find a screen that shows the existing Avery label number so I can just change or customize that.

Put another way, if I did not have any labels, where would I find the Avery label number that the database already uses so that I could order the correct type?

See Create mailing labels in Access - Access - Office.com and manually enter the measurements for the actual labels you are using.

I know I can enter the size, but I'd like to know what I'm starting with in the first place. And I don't know if the Label Wizard is going to take me down a path forcing me enter all the label data as well.

For example, if I want to change page margins, the page setup screen displays the existing margins. It gives me a point of reference to start with.

Isn't there a similar label setup screen showing me what I already have?

    What size are they printing?

If they are membership cards, I would suspect that they could well be credit-card sized, i.e. 85mm x 54 mm. If so, then these might be of use:

The “cards” are actually based on the standard 2”x3.5” business card, however they are printed on plain 8.5”x11” paper. They are then cut & laminated. However the “cards” end up being printed slightly larger than 2” and are a little difficult to fit into the laminations.

I don’t know why this is happening & it could just be my printer. I figured an easy solution would be to just change the card/label size.

But I don’t want to have to go through the whole Label Wizard procedure and reinvent the wheel. As mentioned, if I want to change a margin I can just go to that screen & change that one parameter. I don’t have to go through a Wizard. If I want to change a printer setting & I can do that without having to go through a Wizard. In both cases I can see the existing settings & just change what I want.

I presumed Access had the same ability to go directly into a label setting & see what the existing settings are before changing any of them.

I don’t want to go through a Label Wizard, re-enter all the data such as fonts & colors, and then find out I still have a problem & have to revert back to the original settings. How will I ever know what the original settings are if I cannot review them before changing them? Isn’t there a screen that shows the label settings?
