Cannot use Outlook 2010 - I think I've deleted some file by mistake

I need your help here. I've installed Outlook 2010 after formatting my PC, then deleted it because of connection problems to Gmail. I've tried to install it again, but all my previous Gmail accounts setup have been saved(and thus I couldn't use Outlook for Gmail), so I deleted it again, but this time, thinking that it will solve the problem, I've also manually deleted some Outlook files that weren't deleted after uninstalling.
I've tried again to install Outlook, but now when I try to open it I get this error message: "The file c:\users\username\documents\outlook files\outlook.pst is not found".

OS: Windows 7 home premium 32bit

Did I ruin Outlook on my PC by myself? is there any way to fix this?

    TIA

    Thanks, but:

    1. I don't have neither Outlook 2003 or 2007

    2. How can you create a file in a program for it's "successor"(you can the other way around)? unless the version of Outlook doesn't matter

The first two links are for corrupted files, which is not my case as I don't have any pst files at all, and the third one required something called the Click-to-Run version of Microsoft Word 2010. What is this thing? Also, if this pst files has all my connection information then I don't need it, I want to start the whole Gmail configuration process from scratch.

Is it time to consider seeking help from a professional?
I believe the email service is free.

Also, I think you may need to install Outlook Connector to set up and access your Gmail accounts in Outlook 2010.
