I got accepted 2 days ago, but someone above me mentioned 2 things, C2R and regular Beta...what are the differences? I only got access to C2R with Keys.
The Click 2 Run thing is a streaming install of Office over the internet, which is cool, and it installs into a virtual environment. However, you can't pin the icons to the taskbar, which ****ed me off.

The Office 2010 Tech Preview on Connect is just regular Office 2010, although there have been some activation issues apparently.

I can pin my icons to taskbar...no problems. Currently, just pinning Word since that's what use the most.

Received my invite on 7/14/2009. This is a technical review and not a beta. About three months ago Microsoft request those who would like to part take in the technical review to sign up, and from those that sign up a certain amount would be chosen to be part of the testing procedure. Maybe someone on the forums will remember the number that would be given an invitation. Microsoft said at the time those who were chosen would receive an invitation sometime in July. I was really surprise to get an invite, but it has been worth it; this technical review has been excellent, so far better than 2007.

The Technical Review includes the following software packages for testing purposes:

Office Professional Plus 2010 (Complete Office package)
    Project Professional 2010
    SharePoint Designer 2010
    Visio Professional 2010

Sorry I know this is kinda double post ... from a thread in the software section.

Guys any noticeable differences, performance or features from the previously leaked 14.0.4006.1008 build.

I know the other leaked one 14.0.4032 or something was meant to be pretty buggy and people had issues un-installing?

Lee How did you get access to the other products? I'm doing this via the connect invitation. My Download just shows the C2R option for normal business and home office.

zeus65, When I clicked on the Invitation button it took me to a site (forget which one) that asked me some questions, after answering I was directed to the download site. There could be one reason for me receiving the package I received, and that is also I am a tester for Server 2008 R2, and the Virtual System for servers. Also my Invitation came through Technet.

I got my invitation code via e-mail for Microsoft Connect, filled out a survey and was presented with a download link... I think everyone can still apply for the program plus others by viewing the Available Connections

One issue I have is that the preview has taken over all the office associations from my office 2007 - Not my idea of a good thing for a preview that is not for production use

So you got the Click-2-Run option through TechNet? I don't see that option through my Connect Invitation.
