Proofing Tools in MS Word 2007 not working?

Ever since I got Windows 7, I have had an issue with my MS Word 2007. Spell and Grammar check does not work. It worked 100% fine without issue in Vista. Right now I can misspell a word or type random characters such as agagra and no red line will appear below it.

    I have tried the following:

    1) Office Icon, Word Options, Proofing, and unchecking the "Hide Spelling Errors In This Document Only". This option is grayed out.

When I uncheck the "Check Spelling As You Type (in the section above it), and then recheck it, the option to uncheck Hide Spelling Errors In This Document Only" is available. I click Ok, however no changed take effect.

    2) Running the Microsoft "Fix It" utility found here:

The spelling checker does not flag misspelled words in Word 2007 and in Word 2010

    3) Under Method 4: In Word 2007 or in Word 2010, click the Review tab, and then click Set Language in the Proofing area. If there is a check mark next to the Do not check spelling or grammar check box, click to clear the check box

It is already unchecked by default.
    4) Tried to download and run the following: officeproofingtools2007sp1-kb937156-fullfile-en-us

However, when running it, it says it is already installed.

What other options am I left with? I really need the spell checker to work.

If MS Word 2007 does not support Win 7 64bit, what comparable programs does that is 100% compatible with .doc and .docx files?

Here's another method of repairing Office 2007. Be sure to set a System Restore point before you do this!

Go to Control Panel, click on Programs + Features, scroll down to MS Office, click Change, then select Repair from there.

I only have the option to uninstall and reinstall?

The last time I installed 2007 I already have 2003 (or 2000?) installed. Perhaps I can try installing that and then the proofing tools will work in 2007?

I also ran a program on the MS page linked above that was supposed to do a reg fix, but that did not seem to work.

Did you also run Detect and Repair, as suggested above?
    (another link to Microsoft here):
How to use the repair process in the 2007 Office programs

If this does not solve the problem and you have tried the options here:
The spelling checker does not flag misspelled words in Word 2007 and in Word 2010

then I would suggest that you contact Microsoft Support:
