Receiving error message when opening office 2003

I am running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Whenever I try open outlook or anything in office 2003 I receive the following error message: please wait while windows configures microsoft office single image 2003.

The above error message is an identical message sent to this Forum by "drumstik59" but was for Office 2010 instead of Office 2003.

This was solved by the reply given by "Irene" which is :-

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Word\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Excel\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 \Access\Options /vNoReReg/tREG_DWORD/d 1 "

As I have the same error message with MS Office 2003 but have "\11.0\" in the script instead of "\14.0\" would this solution also apply to Office 2003 ?

Well, version 11.0 applies to Microsoft Office 2003, so it's certainly worth a try.

If you decide to import the modified script into the registry, please make sure you backup the complete registry first and a system restore point wouldn't go amiss either, in case you get problems.
