    Outlook 2007: How do I turn on links to be active when writing emails?

    When I write emails in Outlook 2007 and write a link it looks like it is not active but when I read the email after sending, I can see that the link is active since it is underlined www.example.link but when I write it it is not underlined www.example.link

    Why is that and how can I change it so it looks active when writing it?
    Some of the people receiving my emails says the links are not active so they have to copy/paste the links into their browser.... ????

    You need to make sure you are not sending emails as plain text, I've not got outlook 2007 installed here so I cant give you a step by step instructions to switch it to html.

    The following Microsoft page has full instructions - Change the message format to HTML, Rich Text, or plain text - Outlook - Office.com

    Just a small point; do press the space bar or press enter after you've typed the link?

    Doing so should convert it to a hyperlink.

    Thanks, I do press the space bar or Enter but the link still just looks like normal text with no underscore...

    This looks like it should resolve the problem:
    How to create hyperlinks in Outlook 2007

    Some quotes from the thread linked above...

    Web addresses in the messages I get in plain text do not longer display as
    clickable hyperlinks. How can I re-enable them?

    Outlook 2007 has an option to recognize Internet links in a message and turn
    that into a clickable link. By default this option is turned on.

    If this option inadvertently got turned off (or if you actually prefer to
    have it turned off), you can change it in the following location;

    Tools-> Options-> Mail Format-> Editor Options-> Proofing-> tab AutoFormat

    Here make sure the following options are selected;

    In section Replace:
    Internet and network paths with hyperlinks
    In section Always AutoFormat:
    Plain text e-mail documents
    ALSO:

    On the "AutoFormat as you type" tab,

    Under "Replace as you type"

    check "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks"
