EULA for Office 2010 for install on Windows 7 Professional XP Mode

Ordered a Dell Vostro configured specifically to run XP mode, along with Office 2010. Have received machine, recognize Office isn't installed for XP. Have reviewed several threads addressing issue. My question: I didn't want to purchase Office to run on Windows 7. Our server runs on XP, so that would be useless to me. Can't I obtain a license for what I purchased?

    Hi there
I can't see why Office 2010 won't run on XP -- I'm using it just fine on a Windows 2003 server -- that's actually built from Windows 2000 plus the best bits of XP so if Office 2010 runs on this it most certainly should run on an XP machine.

I can't see any problems either installing Office 2010 on XP Mode (although why on Earth would you want to do this when it will run just fine on the HOST)..

However if your Office 2010 is going to be installed on an XP server why do you need XP mode -- a W7 client machine can access an XP server together with the applications on it.

Note if you are using XP itself rather than something like W2K3 server then only ONE user at a time can access the XP machine.

W2K3 server allows 4 clients before you have to purchase extra client licenses.

I'm not sure of the configuration you are trying to establish. Perhaps you could be a bit more specific on your LOCAL machine and what the server has to do.

    Cheers
