I have Office Profession 2010 and the newest version of Iphone software.
In that case, plug in your phone, and once iTunes detects it, go through each data type and set them to what you want to do, and how you want it to sync. It's all spelled out in iTunes, and you don't really need any further documentation. The explanations are good enough.

    Still don't see it!

Help. I'm a newbie iPhone 4 user, with Win7 x64 and Outlook 2010 on the laptop. I don't yet see the Info tab in iTunes on the laptop, nor in iTunes on the iPhone. (I do see an Info selection in Outlook under the File tab, but that does not address synchronization.) Please guide. Appreciate it!

When your iPhone is plugged into the computer, you should see an "Info" tab along with "Summary", "Music", and others in iTunes on the computer, on the iPhone page.

    More clues. . .

Thanks for your quick help. I am still stuck. Here is a walkthrough of what occurs:

    (0) With the iTunes application open on the laptop, when I click its File drop-down menu, I see a Get Info (Ctrl-I) line, but it is grayed out.

    (1) With the iPhone turned on, I connect it to the laptop. In the laptop-resident iTunes application I see the iPhone's entry appear under DEVICES. The entry shows a battery image and an Eject gadget.

    (2) I select the entry. Now I see a tempting ad for MobileMe appear in the main frame. I do not see an Info tab. When I again click the File drop-down menu, I again see the grayed-out Get Info line.

From what you say, it sounds as if I should be seeing an iPhone page appear in iTunes on the laptop. Let me describe in more detail what happens in step (2) above. When the iPhone entry under DEVICES appears, the main frame goes empty except for the word iPhone in its center. The white bar at the top of the window with the apple logo goes to a message "verifying iPhone" with a barber pole progress bar for a second. When it goes back to the white bar with logo, the MobileMe ad appears in the main frame below. At no time do I see tabs for "Info", "Summary", "Music", etc.

Firstly, you are not looking in the right place. The tab will be in the main frame. You probably need to accept/reject the MobileMe offer before you can see it. You want a screen that shows a picture of the iPhone with details such as capacity, firmware version, etc. You should get that after you clear through the MobileMe offer and anything else like that it shows you.

'Doh. Quite right! If I simply click the No Thanks button on the ad, I am presented with the Getting Started content for the iPhone, and can select which kinds of information to sync. Then when I click Done, the tabful frame appears, the synchronization begins, and I open a beer. Sorry I can't send you one. Many REPs for your patience.
