    Welcome to the forum Noldec

See if method 8 works for you from this link Outlook 2010 not responding, hangs, freezes or stopped working

Method 8: Create a new user profile in Outlook

Click here for information on how to create a new user profile.
    1. Open Mail items by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, clicking User Accounts, and then clicking Mail.
    2. Click Show Profiles.
    3. Select the profile that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
    4. Click Add.
    5. In the Profile Name box, type a name for the profile.
    6. Specify the user name, the primary SMTP address, and the password, and then click Next.
    7. You may receive the following prompt:
Allow this website to configure alias@domain server settings?
In this prompt, click to select the Don’t ask me about this again checkbox, and then click Allow.

If creating a new user profile in Outlook did not resolve your issue, continue to the Advanced Troubleshooting section.

Is it like Outlook 2007, which can get stuck in memory after one cancels and send and receive and quits the program? In my case, it sometimes happens because I have Outlook connector installed. I have to go to the task scheduler and kill the program.

I tried deleting the profiles key using regedit, this deleted the profiles. I guess I could also try it this way.
