OEM Office 2010 crash, missing file, hope to fix

    Hi,
First, thank you to the forum and contributors namely Brink for helps, tips to Win 7.

I am trying to fix OEM Genuine MS Office Starter 2010
    running on Win 7 x64 on Asus N55S i5-2430M since 2011

It crashes and won't allow use bcos specific file missing.

Last wk, Panda failed and notebk was infected, explorer crash.
I fix the infection/virus but lost some SYS, registry files.
Since then, I tried w/o success:
    - Control Panel/Prog & feature/ Uninstall Repair = Repair
    - restore Win 7 image,
    - factory restore OS

    Appreciate help.

Have you tried doing a system file check:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Hi Irene,
I read your post and link. I shall attempt sfc /scannow
FYI, this is OEM version of OS and there is no installation DVD.

BTW, I am considering a new free antivirus over Panda Security
since Panda free failed when they launch paid version.

I read aavast! free tops the list followed by AVG,
I appreciate all suggestions on free antivirus.

Will revert on the result of sfc /scannow

I ran sfc /scannow offline 4 times and restart each time. The final result is
    "Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of th
    em."

I use MicroSoft Security Essentials, which works perfectly for me:
Microsoft Security Essentials | Protect against viruses, spyware, and other malware

    Back on topic...
In your first post you stated that a 'specific' file was missing. Do you know exactly which files(s) are missing. Are they Microsoft Office or Windows 7 files?

The missing file was discovered when Microsoft Office was being deployed.
MS Office did not provide file names.

FYI, I ran sfc /scannow a few more times and still no improvement.
I notice when I defrag a few times, there is an additional run of Relocation each time.
Appreciate on Microsoft Security Essentials. :)
