    Office 2000 and Windows 7 64-bit

    1. I have a Win7 32-bit system.

    2. I'm getting a Win7 64-bit system.

    3. Will Office 2000 install and run on a Windows 64-bit system?

Microsoft has a Windows Compatibility Center here: Windows Compatibility Center: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads for Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows 7

I don't see anything conclusive there as to whether Office 2000 works in Win 7 or not, let alone whether it will work with 64-bit.

If you will have 64-bit Win 7 Professional or Ultimate you have the option of downloading and installing XP Mode which should then let you install Office 2000.

I forgot to mention that I currently have Office 2000 on my Win7 Home Premium 32-bit system.

Do you have Office 2000 on a 32-bit or 64-bit system?

    Thanks

I'm reading forums that people did get Office 2000 working on Win7 x64 .

Why would you want to install that version of Office ? It doesn't get anymore updates . Support ended in 09 .

as mentioned on-going support has been ended via MS,
though you'll still find plenty of people who will assist you
should you run into any problems along the way..

    ..admittedly, I've updated to Outlook2007, Word2007, Powerpoint2007 and Excel2007

but the remaining programs from the MSOffice2000 suite - ie. Access2000,
Publisher2000, FrontPage2000 and MSPhotoDraw V2, all still run OK..

    - been running fine on my current rig via Windows7 Ultimate, for the last 3 years..
