Missing Spam Folder in Outlook 2010

    To all,

I received a spam report in Outlook 2010 that i have 1 outstanding email in my Spam Folder. I know who the email is from (and it's not spam), but I can't seem to find the my Spam Folder. I have a Junk Email Folder, which is empty, and now this email is in limbo. Can anybody please help me with the location of an Outlook 2010 Spam Folder!

    Hi,

There isn't a Spam folder in Outlook 2010 - all spam reports to the Junk Folder.

If the Junk folder is empty, then its likely you have a setting to empty the Junk folder automatically when you close Outlook.

    Hi Golden,

Thanks for that, I had a feeling it was in the Junk Email folder. In terms of changes the Junk Email settings, how can one go about that?

    Hii...
The Microsoft Outlook 2010 Junk Email Filter helps reduce unwanted email messages in your Inbox. Junk email, also known as spam, is moved by the filter away to the Junk E-mailfolder.
Spam folder is a folder for storing spam messages filtered out by FREE anti-spam plugin Spam Reader. Default location is "Spam" subfolder of "Inbox". To specify another location click the "Browse" button. In the displayed "Select Folder" window you can either select one of the existing folders or create a new one.

Spam Reader never automatically deletes messages in this folder so you can check them whenever you want.

Spam Reader's interface includes Options dialog built into standard Microsoft Outlook interface. You can change the outlook spam settings for increasing spam filtering performance.
On General tab of Spam Reader options window, you can view and change some primary Spam Reader settings. You can also set the interaction with Outlook Rules and change Marking Options.

Ok, that helps a lot Golden, thanks. The only problem is I had no automatic filtering selected, but does that delete the junk email or send it to the junk mail? Also, the permanently delete junk email option was switched off. I have changed level of security to high, but still a bit unclear as to why the message has been deleted. I haven't closed Outlook, confirmed with the sending the time it was sent this morning, and received the spam report also this morning.

The default setup is not to delete Junk automatically. Are you using an IMAP or POP3 account?

Using a POP3 account, does that affect the Junk Mail at all?

No, if it was IMAP then I would have suggested that your ISP may automatically be cleaning out the perceived Junk when you opened Outlook, but that's not the case.

Can you have the email resent and see if you get the same thing happen?

Yeah I ended up sending the guy an email telling him the whole story and he just replied and I got the mail, so no dramas there. It was more to understand the problem because if I didn't get the spam report I would have ever known. Could also be affecting other emails too so just wanted to get it fixed. With the changes I made to the Junk Email settings I will see if that works & let you know. Thanks man
