Do a PC search for normal.doc and delete ALL copies that it finds. Then open Word and it will create a new normal.doc template file.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

I searched & deleted all copies of normail.dot to no avail. FYi, Isp 3 is installed on my Office 2003.

I have no idea what "Isp3" is.

Open Word then go to File/Page Setup. Click on the Paper Tab and you can set (reset) it to 8.5 X 11, although deleting all copies of normal.dot should have done the same thing.

Firebred, maybe this headers-footers image will help.

Looks like the truncated normal.dot does not include headers & footers.

There must be some other option, as that is checked but grayed out, in my Word 2003.

How my options are setup is stock. I haven't modified anything.

    Fireberd,

Yea, saw your screen dump, it's grayed out but & so is the chk mark. Mine was not grayed out or check, so when I chk'd it, it worked. As to why? Beats me.

    thanks,
