    Weirdness Excel and Quickbooks

I was trying to lean how to do drop down boxes in Excel and after a while got a practice sheet to do what I wanted it to do. Now when opening the excel sheet, message says "standby while windows configures quickbooks" I think I am going to have to delete that spread sheet and start again. Any know reasons why this might be happening?

It appears that your Quickbooks program has got entangled with Excel so it might be a good idea to check your Quickbooks data files to see if they are still OK. I use Quicken which it also an Intuit product & I have found the data files can get corrupted fairly easily. With that in mind I always do a Quicken back up to a flash drive whenever I add new info.

On the practice sheet, all I did was enter some data in A1 thru A5 (1,2,3,4,5) to use and see if the pull down box was functioning. I had no other links etc, very basic stuff I thought. And yes, quickbooks appears to be functioning as normal. Every 4th start of the program automatically saves a backup to another physical drive. Tx for the thoughts. I have since deleted that test file. Other excel sheets seem to work as normal.
